My daughter is 14 and she was diagnosed in May 2023 with ASD. What I found that there was no support or information before, during or after diagnosis. From the hospital or school. That there is nothing for teenagers.
I also live with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. So life is challenging in different ways and fighting for my daughter means we both are trying to survive every day. I have been fighting for my daughter since she was 9. Having a diagnosis didn’t ease the fight it made things worse.
When I got the opportunity to share my voice and be part of a PCF to work with the Council. I knew that was the only choice to get the support and information to make changes together for a better quality of life with informed decisions with up to date information about support that is easy to get and understand.
